My teens are completely on edge about the new TV season that are coming out. We’re playing Yu-Gi-Oh, and then conversation turns to Mockingjay Part One- “Miss, where is it going to stop? HOW can they split that into two movies?” Or “Miss, what do you think they’re going to do with THIS?!?!?!”
What are your teens talking about? These are the main fall TV shows that my teens are geeking about:
Z Nation: Showing on SyFy (premiered last Friday) got my teens hyped up with more zombies than ever. I think they were really hooked on the promo that had a zombie baby more than anything, but they are hooked enough to keep watching.
Arrow: I have a dedicated following within my library who consistently watch Arrow and constantly talk about plot points. They never watched Smallville but are completely hooked on Oliver and the twists and turns. The third season of Arrow premieres October 8 on CW.
The Flash: considered a “spin off” of Arrow, following the story of Barry Allen and how he gets and deals with his faster than life super powers. Everyone is keeping an eye out to see how well CW will do this one, and whether it will beat Arrow in the ratings. The Flash premiers October 1 on CW.
Gotham: Taking the popularity of Batman and spinning it back decades, Gotham starts the tale of Detective Gordon and the origins of the super villains (and dark knight) that we know. Buzz is high not only with my teens but online, so it’s definitely one to watch. Gotham premiers September 22 on Fox.
Sleepy Hollow: Ending on a huge cliffhanger, and one of the most dynamic and diverse casts, Sleepy Hollow kept me and my teens on the edge of our seats. I cannot wait for this to start up again. Sleepy Hollow premiers September 22 after Gotham.
AHS: Freakshow: A core group of teens are sticking by American Horror Story, even after the strangeness and unresolved plotlines of last season. They are definitely interested in the freakshow theme this season, and are hoping for more “suspense horror, that creep horror than gore horror”. The new season starts October 8 on FX.
