There are some days when, no matter what I do, it never seems to be enough. I end up disappointing tweens and teens (and that seems like all the time as they are a notoriously fickle bunch), or I can’t juggle everything that needs to be done in a day, or I can’t seem to find a balance between work and home life.
This is when I need to remember that what I get accomplished today, no matter at work or in my personal life, is enough. I got up, and I got through the day.
Some days are just like that- and while we (youth and teen librarians and specialists) tend to push ourselves to the limit trying to do everything and get everything just so, we need to remind ourselves that what we get done is enough. We need to let whatever we do today be enough.
So take it to heart, and just for today, let whatever you do today be enough.
