A year ago this week I launched A Geek in Librarian’s Clothing. It took a lot of thought, and a lot of encouragement from my heart family to take the next steps and go out on my own and do my own thing- for all that my public face is confident and personable, inside I can constantly doubt myself. The year before GLC came to be was a rough one personally and professionally, and during its first year, things got even rockier; while my ideal was to have a post every weekday, it obviously didn’t happen.
Yet we made it through, and there have been a lot of wonderful things that have come through the struggle. I’m part of a larger blogging community than I was, and I love it. Willow the Wonder dog came into our lives, and she has made leaps and bounds since That Guy and I rescued her in October- from shaking at anything and everything to now running through the house and starting to play in her own way. Personally things are looking up, and there are huge positive changings on the horizon for us as well.
I’m excited for what the future holds, not only for me but for GLC as well. I’m excited to see where I can take it, and where we’ll grow in the next year.
Thanks for being here for the first steps, and I hope you’ll continue to be here for the next.
