Ohhhh, November is around the corner, and that means NEW BOOKS! EEEHHHHHH! Down below are covers and catch-descriptions for a few of the November 2014 releases that have caught my eye. There are debuts and short stories, conclusions to series and companions to books, dystopias and romances…take a look and see what catches your eye!
AGE RANGES
Unless stated below, all of the books above would be fine for all teen/young adult collections (normally classified as ages 13 and up, or grades 8 and up).
- For The Walled City, I would definitely give it to older, more mature readers- it deals with forced prostitution and rape.
- For Shake It Up, in my opinion it could fit in a straight middle school collection, where it’s only grades 6, 7, and 8. My tweens have been clamoring for it since it’s written by and basically a thin veneer over the Shake It Up star, and I didn’t see anything that put me off of putting it in that younger collection. However, definitely review it for yourself before placing it there as the publisher lists it for ages 12 and up.
